What is Rosuvastatin?
A potent statin that blocks cholesterol production in the liver and lowers LDL cholesterol. Prescribed for lipid disorders and to reduce cardiovascular risk.
How well studied is Rosuvastatin?
Registration and large outcome trials show LDL lowering and fewer cardiovascular events. In use for decades.
What side effects and risks does Rosuvastatin have?
Headache, nausea, muscle pain, constipation. Rarely muscle breakdown with kidney damage – higher risk in older people, people of Asian descent, with thyroid or kidney problems, and with ciclosporin, gemfibrozil, certain HIV drugs or colchicine. Liver damage, protein/blood in urine and raised blood sugar are possible. Aluminium/magnesium antacids reduce absorption. No known direct interaction with GLP-1 drugs, but dehydration from vomiting/diarrhoea strains the kidneys.
Is Rosuvastatin approved in Germany?
In short: yes. Approved in Germany/EU, prescription-only. Not on the WADA Prohibited List. Taking it without a prescription and medical monitoring – e.g. bought from “peptide shops” – is dangerous: unknown quality, no lab checks, no adjustment to blood pressure, kidney values or other medicines.
