MGF is a short peptide (24 amino acids) from an IGF-1 splice variant produced in muscle after loading. PEG-MGF is a synthetic variant extended with polyethylene glycol that is meant to stay stable for longer.
How well studied is MGF / PEG-MGF (mechano growth factor)?
The evidence consists almost entirely of cell and animal studies; there are no controlled human studies. Whether injected MGF promotes muscle growth in humans at all is unproven.
What side effects and risks does MGF / PEG-MGF (mechano growth factor) have?
Human safety data are lacking. Because IGF-1 splice variants have been linked to tumour growth, a cancer-promoting effect is under discussion. Grey-market products are untested for purity, sterility and identity.
Is MGF / PEG-MGF (mechano growth factor) approved in Germany?
In short: no. Not approved as a medicine anywhere. Explicitly prohibited in sport (WADA S2, growth factors); may fall under the German AntiDopG. High quality and counterfeit risk.
