What is GHRP-6?

GHRP-6 is an early synthetic hexapeptide that stimulates growth hormone release via the ghrelin receptor – a different mechanism from the body's own GHRH. It was the starting point for later compounds such as hexarelin.

How well studied is GHRP-6?

Human data are limited to small physiological and pharmacokinetic studies (e.g. GH rise in healthy men). Clinical studies on therapeutic benefit or on muscle and fat metabolism are lacking; much of the data comes from animal studies.

What side effects and risks does GHRP-6 have?

Marked hunger is typical (ghrelin effect). Like other GH secretagogues it can raise cortisol and prolactin and, via GH/IGF-1, promote fluid retention and worse blood sugar control. Long-term data are lacking; grey-market products are untested for purity, content and sterility.

Is GHRP-6 approved in Germany?

In short: no. Not approved as a medicine anywhere. Prohibited in sport (WADA S2, GH-releasing peptides); GH secretagogues may fall under the German AntiDopG. High quality and counterfeit risk with “research” products.
