Stimulates the release of growth hormone and specifically reduces belly fat (visceral fat).
How well studied is tesamorelin?
Approved in the USA since 2010 – to reduce belly fat in people with HIV and lipodystrophy. There are randomised trials for this use.
What are the side effects and risks of tesamorelin?
Injection site reactions, joint pain, fluid retention, raised blood sugar.
Is tesamorelin approved in Germany?
In short: no – only outside the EU. Not approved in the EU. Banned in sport (WADA S2).
