Ipamorelin: Effects, Evidence and Risks

Also known as GHRP.

StatusNot approved

Drug classGhrelin receptor agonist (growth hormone secretagogue)

What is Ipamorelin?

Releases growth hormone via the ghrelin receptor. Considered more “selective” than older GHRPs because it barely raises cortisol and prolactin. Often combined with CJC-1295.

How well studied is Ipamorelin?

It was tested in humans against bowel paralysis after surgery – with no advantage over placebo. There are no controlled studies on muscle, fat or sleep.

What side effects and risks does Ipamorelin have?

Hunger, water retention, headaches; possible effects on blood sugar.

Is Ipamorelin approved in Germany?

In short: no. Not approved. Banned in sport (WADA S2).

Note: We deliberately do not list any doses here. For approved medicines, your doctor sets the dose; for unapproved substances there is no reliable information.
