What is TB-500?
Thymosin β4 is a protein made by the body that is involved in cell migration and wound healing. TB-500 is a short synthetic fragment of it.
How well studied is TB-500?
Animal and cell studies on wound healing and heart tissue. There have been small clinical studies with full-length thymosin β4 (e.g. eye drops), but none on TB-500 as an injection.
What are the side effects and risks of TB-500?
Affects cell growth and the formation of new blood vessels – theoretically problematic in cancers (including undiagnosed ones). No long-term data.
Is TB-500 approved in Germany?
In short: no. Not approved. Explicitly banned in sport (WADA S2); there have been doping cases in both horse racing and human sport.
