What is Nebivolol?
Highly selective beta blocker that lowers heart rate and blood pressure and also widens blood vessels. Prescribed for high blood pressure and (in the EU) for heart failure in older patients.
How well studied is Nebivolol?
Approved and studied in randomised trials for blood-pressure lowering and heart failure.
What side effects and risks does Nebivolol have?
Dizziness, fatigue, headache, slow pulse, leg swelling; feeling faint is a warning sign. Do not stop abruptly – risk of heart attack. Can mask signs of low blood sugar (relevant with insulin/sulfonylureas alongside GLP-1). Falling blood pressure with weight loss plus low fluid intake → dizziness/falls; many interactions, including with herbal products.
Is Nebivolol approved in Germany?
In short: yes. Approved in Germany/EU, prescription-only. WADA: beta blockers are prohibited in certain sports (e.g. shooting, archery, golf, darts). Taking it without a prescription and medical monitoring – e.g. bought from “peptide shops” – is dangerous: unknown quality, no lab checks, no adjustment to blood pressure, kidney values or other medicines.
