What is Epitalon?
Said to activate telomerase, lengthen the telomeres (the protective caps of chromosomes) and thus slow down ageing.
How well studied is Epitalon?
Almost exclusively animal and cell studies, plus older, small studies from one Russian research group. No independent controlled studies in humans.
What side effects and risks does Epitalon have?
Unknown. Activated telomerase is also a hallmark of cancer cells – so the effect is not automatically “good”.
Is Epitalon approved in Germany?
In short: no. Not approved.
