What is SLU-PP-332?

SLU-PP-332 activates the estrogen-related receptors ERRα, β and γ (despite the name, it has no estrogenic effect). These receptors control genes for mitochondrial biogenesis and endurance metabolism in muscle.

How well studied is SLU-PP-332?

So far only cell and mouse studies: treated mice had more fatigue-resistant muscle fibres and ran considerably longer on a treadmill; animal models hinted at benefits in obesity and metabolic disease. There are no human data; the developers are now working on successor compounds.

What side effects and risks does SLU-PP-332 have?

Effects, dose–response and side effects in humans are completely unknown. Because ERR receptors are active in the heart, kidney and many other tissues, broad and unpredictable effects are possible.

Is SLU-PP-332 approved in Germany?

In short: no. Not approved anywhere, no clinical development in humans. Not named on the WADA list, but prohibited under S0 as a non-approved substance; classification as a metabolic modulator (S4) is possible. Online products are untested.
